Indianapolis, IN – CreateAbility Concepts, Inc., a leading innovator in enabling technology, proudly announces the launch of MeMinder 4.0, the latest version of their task-prompting and instruction app designed to empower individuals with diverse abilities to lead more independent and fulfilling lives.

MeMinder 4.0 represents a significant leap forward in user-centric design and functionality for the individuals served as well as major enhancements to the efficiency of the task-scheduling on the provider-facing dashboard. This new release is a testament to CreateAbility’s unwavering commitment to harnessing the power of technology to create inclusive solutions for individuals served in both residential and vocational settings while better serving Provider Agencies in challenging times.

Key Features of MeMinder 4.0:

For Providers
Significant enhancements in user scheduling and set-up:
Care providers, job coaches, residential staff and parents can now make talking picture, audio, sequences, and full video task prompts quicker and easier. All task creation tools are in the palm of their hands, using an intuitive interface that is the result of 7 years of feedback from customers and study participants.

Additional, QR-code driven task formats:
While audio-only, talking pictures, and full video demonstration features are still included, a QR code-driven task format has been added for those who are new to technology and need instructions delivered in the simplest of formats. This also provides an upgrade path to users of QMinder, CreateAbility’s entry level task prompter that uses QR codes to initiate tasks.

At-a-Glance feature:
Allows Care Providers and Job Coaches the ability to view all individuals served on a single dashboard, identify who is accomplishing goals and who is experiencing setbacks, and allocate resources accordingly.

Replication of task list feature:
Affords Care Providers and Job Coaches the ability to copy elements of in individual’s task list into a another’s; saving more time and manpower.

Integration with other CreateAbility Apps:
MeMinder 4.0 provides better data visibility as it now integrates with other CreateAbility Apps. This integration will benefit reporting and person-centered plans.

For the Individuals Served
More intuitive user interface: The modern, “card layout” interface ensures a seamless and user-friendly experience, making it easier than ever to navigate daily responsibilities.

Accessibility for individuals without Wi-Fi connectivity:
MeMinder 4.0 seamlessly checks for WI-FI or cellular internet access, and then automatically downloads all the materials and schedules needed to prompt the individual for the next 7 days. This means that task prompting can happen at the precise time, even when the device is offline for extended periods.

New messaging feature for increased engagement:
Individuals can now receive personal messages from care providers and loved ones that seamlessly integrate into their daily schedules.

“The release of MeMinder 4.0 reflects our ongoing commitment to innovation and inclusivity, and we believe it will make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals served.” said Steve Sutter, President of CreateAbility. “Equally, it reflects our dedication to continually striving to make technology easier and more effective for Care Providers, who are taking on extra workload, typically without extra pay.”

INDIANAPOLIS, November 3rd, 2021 – CreateAbility Concepts, Inc., a technology company located in Indianapolis, recently released new, valuable features to its flagship technology solution, MeMinder.

The newest version of MeMinder 3.5 enables task instructions to be delivered at a specific time during the day; increasing the level of assistance it provides to people with intellectual disabilities. These task alerts also help providers manage the individuals they serve more efficiently as it reduces the need to intrude in their clients’ daily lives.

Whereas MeMinder previously served as a valuable platform for accessing daily tasks and instructions, now the persons served will proactively receive alerts that let them know when it’s time to engage in their daily responsibilities and help them manage their schedules more effectively.

“The people we serve typically desire and are ready for more independence in their lives.” Steve Sutter, Create Ability’s President adds. “This new task alert feature helps keep them on task and less reliant on having to check their devices or their direct service provider throughout the day for reminders.”

Additional features in this release help caregivers or staff remotely set these task item timers.

Please contact support@createabilityinc.com if you are a current customer who has technical questions or needs assistance accessing MeMinder 3.5 updates. Individuals who are interested in what MeMinder can do to help the people they serve achieve independence and lead more fulfilling lives can contact info@createability.com for more information.

INDIANAPOLIS, June 3rd, 2021 – CreateAbility Concepts, Inc., a technology company located in Indianapolis, recently launched Employment Pathfinder, a web and app-based system of surveys to help people with intellectual disabilities assess three key pre-employment criteria: job readiness, career interests and corresponding skill set. On June 3rd, the iOS version of the app was accepted into the App store; granting care providers and job coaches world-wide the ability to download the assessment system on an individual-use basis.

“The pandemic made the use of technology is becoming more commonplace in the lives, homes and jobs of people with intellectual disabilities. Not only are they enjoying it; they are succeeding at it!” CreateAbility Founder and President, Steve Sutter, states. “Making all of our apps accessible on every operating system is the focus so that everyone can be empowered through technology.”

Employment Pathfinder reflects both the company’s mission of helping people with intellectual and developmental disabilities flourish beyond their current capabilities and aligns with their belief in “employment-for-all”. Additionally, Employment Pathfinder helps vocational rehabilitation professionals and job coaches make more sustainable job matches for the people they serve.  Job seekers answer assessment questions and select preferences using a web-form, or the App, while staff can also weigh in on their opinions. A report is then generated for $49.95 per job seeker, that provides a gap analysis, and details actionable strategies, tactics and approaches to address these gaps.

To access the free iOS version of the app, please follow this link for purchase through The App Store. For use on Android devices, please follow this link to the Google Play Store

INDIANAPOLIS, June 8th, 2021 – CreateAbility Concepts, Inc., a technology company located in Indianapolis, was recently awarded a portion of the Second Chance Grant provided by the State of Florida’s Department of Justice for the replication and use of their MyBrain technology.  CreateAbility’s MyBrain will be utilized as technology solution that will ultimately, help reduce the rate of recidivism in youth ages 14-18.

Modern research identifies traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) in approximately 50% of youth who have been in juvenile detention centers or prison.  The neurocognitive changes that occur from TBIs can commonly result in substance abuse problems, disrupted relationships, employment issues, and extra challenges in learning. When not managed effectively, these issues decrease the efficacy of reform efforts. The Second Chance Grant was designed to proactively survey and monitor the youth offenders’ health, well-being, and other factors before they act out, re-offend and/or break the conditions of their release.

CreateAbility’s Role in the Second Chance Youth Re-entry Program:
Using a tablet, the youth offender will use CreateAbility’s MyBrain app for surveillance. For example, MyBrain will provide regular, intervallic measure of pain level, opioid use, anger and irritability, mood, substance misuse, affect dysregulation, sleep-related impairment, cognitive functioning, level of TBI-related disability, social isolation, and self-efficacy for managing one’s own emotions.

These assessments can be delivered in a way that matches the youth’s ability, such as via an App with a built-in screen reader, a simplified web form, or as a chat bot. When the youth scores high in a risk area, interventions are provided to help them self-manage their anger, anxiety or depression. Alerts are sent to staff if certain answers indicate an immediate need, such as suicidal ideations, or the youth is obtaining drugs from a different source than the pharmacy.

MyBrain technology was created in 2018 and now serves as the foundation of CreateAbility’s avatar-led assessment system called Evalu8Now. Evalu8NOW is currently being used in the private TBI sector as well as the intellectual disabilities community.

Please contact info@createabilityinc.com for more information on what MyBrain technology can do for your data collection and person-centered care plan initiatives.

DSPs and support staff members’ jobs are not just to keep their clients safe and healthy, but to also work with them on establishing goals for themselves and working to achieve them. Often times, people with IDDs also have a dual diagnosis; another behavioral challenge in addition to their intellectual developmental disability. Behavioral challenges can flare up during this goal setting process and hinder the individuals from achieving whatever it is they set out to do.

CreateAbility, in partnership with Dr. Julie F. Brown of Skills System, Inc. are nearing the last phase of development for OnTracker; an app that allows persons with IDDs to check in multiple times per day to gauge whether their thoughts and actions are aligned with their current goals. By running on popular Apple and Android tablets, OnTracker is a 24/7 coach to help them check in a self-regulate after experiencing an emotional triggering event, such as a conflict with a roommate or co-worker, or missing a bus on a rainy day.

After rating their feelings, the app enables them to employ the appropriate ‘skills’ to help them independently cope with their situation. The 9 skills include:

  • Clear picture: Helps persons being served notice what is happening inside and outside of themselves at that moment.
  • On-Track Thinking: Helps persons being served think clearly about what they want and what will work to help reach their goals.
  • On-Track Action: Once they get a clear picture and have On-Track Thinking, this step helps them do something positive to move toward goals.
  • Safety Plan: Persons being served plan how to handle risky situations that are happening right now and may happen in the future.
  • New-Me Activities: Help the person being served focus their attention, help them feel better, distract them and help them have fun.
  • Problem Solving: Taking time to solve problems in the person being served life so that they can be happier and reach goals.
  • Expressing Myself: Person being served shares what is on their mind and their heart to help them reach their goals.
  • Getting it Right: Helps the person being served work with people to get what they want.
  • Relationship Care: Helps the person being served understand how to have with themselves and others.

The app will benefit people in day programs and in residential settings.

Should you be interested in participating in a pilot study or just wanting more information on OnTracker, please reach out to us at info@createabilityinc.com.

INDIANAPOLIS, December 6th, 2019 – CreateAbility, Inc., a technology company located in Indianapolis, is preparing to launch a new version of their flagship assistive technology solution, MeMINDER 3.3.

Now deployed in 17 states, MeMINDER helps people with IDDs, TBIs, Down Syndrome, Autism, and Dementia build and/or keep their independence. From their IOS or Android devices, persons being served can get the alerts and instruction they need in the areas of personal hygiene, household chores, medication adherence, appointments and transportation details. Care providers can schedule daily tasks with ease and efficiently monitor progress and setbacks and adjust the level of instruction needed accordingly as well as assign supporting responsibilities to staff through the user-friendly dashboard.

The newest update to the assistive technology app, MeMINDER 3.3, is designed to improve executive function skills for the person being served; and to increase the ease of use and task verification for care providers.

The new features include:

• Sequencing: Create and modify multiple-step sequences and attach them to a Daily Item. These sequences could be used to create a detailed set of instructions that could describe in detail how to accomplish a complex task.

• PRE and POST scheduling: Caregiver will be able to sort “Daily Items” into PRE or POST groups. These groups will allow specified Daily Items to be visible only before, or after the user has accomplished their regular list of items for that day.

Alternate swiping: On the “Talking Pictures” view, the user can now swipe to the left or right to mark the item as completed.

• Photo Proof/Verification: A caregiver can now mark any “Daily Item” to require a photo to be taken when that item is completed off the user’s list. When the user swipes the item to complete it, a new camera icon appears that will allow them to take a picture with their tablet, and the picture is uploaded to the BEAM cloud when the task completion can be verified by care provider and/or job coach.

• Cloud Backup and Restore: Care providers/job coaches will be able to take a snapshot of any user’s data on that device and upload it to the BEAM cloud. If the user were ever needing to reinstall the app, they could restore their custom data, such as photos, audio recordings, and sequences from BEAM back to MeMinder.

Bug fixes and UI enhancements.

MeMINDER 3.3 update will be released end of December, 2019. CreateAbility’s tech support line call will be available to all current users to answer any questions or can reach tech support by emailing support@createabilityinc.com.
